After a degree as an art teacher, Josephine Beijer found her playground in Amsterdam. Connected with a lot of other artists and creatives that inspired her. She won a prize for an ice sculpture in Germany and her short film was shown at film festivals in Aubagne and Paris in France. A side from making own work, she worked a lot at festivals and museums to build décor, interiors and exhibitions.

Working at the Lowlands festival she was shocked by the tents that were left over after the festival. Why do people leave tents like garbage after only a use of three days? This material must not be thrown away. A happy red poncho worn by a grumpy woman, stamping angry on the pedals of her bike, was an encounter that happened a bit later. As grey and awful as the rainy weather was, as happy the red poncho danced around in the wind behind her. This was where the idea for the TENTacles project was born.
